AXS TV will bring back its unscripted series The Big Interview With Dan Rather for its ninth season in April with a focus on musical families, the network said Friday.

The series, which features the veteran newsman as he profiles a diverse slate of artists and entertainers, debuts its six-episode season on April 14 featuring interviews with country music band Lady A’s Hillary Scott and her husband Chris Tyrrell, said AXS TV. The season’s focus on musical families also includes interviews with the Beastie Boys’s Adam Horovitz and wife Kathleen Hanna and with Creedence Clearwater Revival founder John Fogerty and his children, Shane, Tyler and Kelsy.

The six-episode season also features profiles of Grammy winners Jason Isbell and wife Amanda Shires as well as rapper Lil Jon and his son Slade and R&B singer Michelle Branch and husband Patrick Carney.

Rather said in a statement: “It is a privilege and a pleasure to bring The Big Interview back for a ninth season. Doing this new slate of episodes was particularly interesting to me, as we got to explore the relationships inside musical families—from fathers and children, to husbands and wives. There are differences in generations and genre, but their passion for music and each other is deep, thought-provoking—and yes, sometimes inspiring.”

John Kasich's win in Ohio, Cuomo asked Trump what would happen if he came to the convention short of the requisite number of delegates.

Trump said that if he were, say, 20 votes or 100 votes short, and did not get the nomination: "I think you'd have riots. ... I am representing many millions of people... If you disenfranchise those people and say, 'I'm sorry, you're a hundred votes short,' even though the next one is 500 votes short, I think you would have problems like you've never seen before. I think bad things would happen. I really believe that," according to a CNN transcript.

Trump said he wouldn't lead those riots, "but I think bad things would happen."

Trump has been criticized for the violence at his rallies and his inflammatory rhetoric. But the candidate said in the interview that has been overblown.

"[S]ometimes we'll have somebody stand up and start screaming and then the press fix it up like it's a big deal, but to be honest with you, we have had tremendous harmony, and there's love in those rooms," he said.

Trump told Fox News this morning that plans to skip the upcoming GOP debate scheduled for Monday on Fox News -- he said he is slated to give a speech at the pro-Israel lobby AIPAC conference instead. "Nobody told me about debates. As you saw I thought the last debate on CNN was the last debate," he told Fox & Friends, Politico reported. Trump's presence has helped pump up ratings for the GOP debates.

Trump told MSNBC that he had been receiving calls from prominent Republicans he wouldn't identify but whom he said had been on talks shows previously speaking out against Trump. "They want to get together," he told Morning Joe co-host Joe Scarborough.

In Kobe Bryant's mind, he should have won seven championships with the Los Angeles Lakers.

Bryant, who sat out the 2015 All-Star Game at Madison Square Garden with a rotator cuff injury, will nonetheless put a stamp on the festivities via a far-ranging conversation airing Monday night on NBA TV.

Premiering on Feb. 16 at 9 p.m., Kobe: The Interviewwas conducted by Ahmad Rashad. The conversation with the Los Angeles Lakers legend, touches myriad topics, including his thoughts on how titles against the Boston Celtics in 2008 and Detroit Pistons in 2004 got away; how he’s transformed his game through the years; his motivation; and reflections on his former teammates and coaches.

Bryant on the goals he set when he started his career: “It was really simple for me, at the time, which is win as many championships as possible. That was it. You know, I watched Michael win six. I watched Magic win five. You know [Bill] Russell…growing up, I understood that to be the standard.”

Bryant on players he’s admired that he’s lined up against: “That is a really long list...I played against the golden greats...Michael [Jordan], [John] Stockton, [Gary] Payton, [Clyde] Drexler...All the way up to this generation of players – LeBron [James], D-Wade [Dwyane Wade] and KD [Kevin Durant] – to now the younger generation…[Stephen] Curry, James Harden, all these players...Klay Thompson, I admire all of them because they all bring something different to the game and they all have their strengths that you can learn from.”

Bryant on whether he’s at the end: “I can’t say it is the end. I thought the Spurs were done 20 years ago. Those guys are still winning. So, to answer the question, I can’t say this is the end of my era because I thought their [era] was done and they’re still there. So I’m hoping I can have the same rebirth.”

The network’s NBA All-Star Monday primetime lineup on Feb. 16 will also feature Countdown to Kobe: The Interview at 8:30 p.m., hosted by Vince Cellini, a 30-minute show looking back at Bryant’s standout career and legacy, featuring interviews from current and former Lakers teammates, along with guests. Bryant’s former teammate and current NBA TV analyst Rick Fox will also join the show live from New York.

The night will conclude with a special New York themed edition of NBA TV’s critically acclaimed Open Courtat 10 p.m., with the conversation centering on hoops' influence in the city.

The Open Court panel discussion, hosted by Sports Emmy Award winner Ernie Johnson, will feature a collection of TNT and NBA TV analysts including Kenny Smith, Shaquille O’Neal, Grant Hill and Steve Smith, along with former New York Knicks guard John Starks as a guest on the show.
