More family-centric series about home renovation and house flipping have been cleared for production, including <em>Five Day Flip</em>, <em>Vintage Flip</em> and <em>Nashville Flipped</em>. DIY Network, another Scripps Networks Interactive outlet, coming off its most-watched second quarter (up 6% year over year), has ordered <em>American Rehab: Utah</em> and <em>Amish Dream Homes</em> (working title).</p><p>HGTV explores the latest trends in house flipping in three of the new series. <em>Five Day Flip</em> follows renovator Cherie Barber as she guts and remodels fixer uppers and puts them back on the market in only five days. In <em>Vintage Flip</em>, real estate expert and contractor Jessie Rodriguez and his wife Tina purchase dated homes and restore them with custom design features and architectural elements. <em>Nashville Flipped</em> features Troy Dean Shafer, the owner of a house-flipping business. During the series, Troy, his designer Alex and a team of contractors renovate historic homes in the heart of Nashville.</p><p>DIY's two new series follow families who renovate homes together. <em>Amish Dream Homes</em> features the Miller family, who work to balance their traditional cultural values and operate a construction business. In <em>American Rehab: Utah</em>, Andy and Candis Meredith (pictured) run a family business in which they purchase historic properties across the state and restore them to their original beauty for generations to come.</p>

(Other such shows include <em>Beachfront Bargain Hunt</em>, <em>Lakefront Bargain Hunt</em>, <em>Caribbean Life</em>,<em>Vacation House for Free</em> and <em>Hawaii Life</em>.)</p><p>DIY, a sister channel in the Scripps Networks Interactive stable, ordered more episodes of real-estate competition show <em>Texas Flip and Move</em>, adventure series <em>Building Alaska</em> and <em>Garage Gold</em>, starring junk-picker Kraig Bantle (pictured in blue t-shirt).</p><p>“We’ve achieved 11 consecutive months of ratings growth at HGTV, and DIY Network’s prime impressions are up 8% this quarter,” Allison Page, general manager, HGTV and DIY Network, said in a release. “<em>Island Life</em>, <em>Island Hunters, Building Alaska</em>, <em>Garage Gold</em> and <em>Texas Flip and Move</em> are among the consistent performers on our networks, so we want to keep our programming pipeline filled with new episodes.”</p><p><em>Island Life f</em>ollows homeowners who are ready to shed the hustle and bustle for the perfect island home. <em>Island Hunters</em> features families in search of their own private island, HGTV said.</p><p>DIY's <em>Texas Flip and Move</em> follows three teams of real-estate risk-takers buy dilapidated houses at auction and move the structures off the property that day, which can be dangerous. In <em>Garage Gold,</em> Kraig Bantle and his team as they clean out junk-filled spaces for free, keeping whatever valuable items he finds and wants. <em>Building Alaska</em> showcases the construction of off-the-grid homes, DIY said.</p>

They are likely to make their debut this summer, the network said, with scheduling yet to be determined.</p><p>In <em>Flipping Virgins</em> (a working title), property expert Egypt Sherrod (pictured) advises first-time flippers the ultimate tutorial in the risky world of flipping houses.</p><p><em>Old Home Love</em> (w.t.) showcases Utah couple Andy and Candis Meredith as they renovate dilapidated houses from the 1800s and restore them to their original beauty.</p><p>Shalina Joy, a New Jersey teacher and single mom of two, takes on her biggest summer vacation project ever: transforming a run-down 1900s mansion into a sunny, functional home for her family in <em>Restoring Victoria</em>, also a working title.</p><p>And <em>Flipping Moms</em> gives popular authors and mom bloggers Jen Pate and Barb Machen center stage as they try to balance busy family lives with buying, renovating and selling fixer uppers. </p><p>“Viewers are very interested in renovation and flipping when it leads to the outcome that every community wants -- restored, well-maintained homes,” Allison Page, general manager, HGTV and DIY Network, said in a release. “HGTV has had tremendous success with series like <em>Rehab Addict</em> and <a href="https://www.nexttv.com/news/hgtv-orders-13-more-fixer-upper-installments-374773" data-original-url="https://www.multichannel.com/news/hgtv-orders-13-more-fixer-upper-installments-374773"><em>Fixer Upper</em></a> which showcase real people who have a passion for renovating older properties to enhance their value to the overall community.”</p><p>HGTV had a solid 2014, a down year for most cable programmers, with primetime ratings growing 4%.
