Hallmark Channel is pulling the plug on its long-running series Home & Family at the end of its ninth season, the network said Tuesday.

The lifestyles-themed daytime series, which launched on Hallmark in 2012 as a two-hour daily show and is currently co-hosted by Debbie Matenopoulos and Cameron Mathison, will now air a one-hour version of the show three days a week beginning April 5, according to Hallmark. The series finale will air Aug. 4.

In a statement, the network said: “For nearly a decade, the show has anchored our daytime lineup, featuring countless hours of cooking, lifestyle, DIY, health, entertaining, and decorating segments. We want to thank the heart and soul of the show, our incredibly talented cast and crew – led by co-hosts Debbie Matenopoulos and Cameron Mathison – for their creativity, hard work, and dedication.”

The series initially debuted in 1996 on The Family Channel (now Freeform) before moving to The Hallmark Channel in 2012. 

In a surprise move, Hallmark Channel has ended ties with Home & Family co-host Mark Steines, the network said Friday.

In a statement released on Twitter Thursday night, Hallmark said: “Today Hallmark Channel has parted ways with Mark Steines as the co-host of the network’s lifestyle series “Home & Family.” We are extremely grateful to Mark for his incredible work and wish him all the best success in his future endeavors.”

The network released a second statement Friday morning: "Shows evolve and change all the time. Mark has been an instrumental part of “Home & Family” for the past 6 years, and we are extremely grateful for his incredible work and leadership. We truly wish Mark all the best in his future endeavors."

Steines has co-hosted the Emmy-nominated daytime lifestyle show series since 2012. 

Home & Family, which debuted on Hallmark in 2012, provides viewers with home improvement, parenting, health and fitness tips. The show is currently hosted by Debbie Matenopoulos.

Hallmark Channel’s daytime series Home & Family will air new episodes for a complete calendar year, the network said Thursday.

Hallmark will air 260 original episodes of the Emmy nominated, two-hour original series over the next year, the first time the show has put together 52 straight weeks of new original shows, said network officials.

The Home & Family series, co-hosted by Mark Steines & Cristina Ferrare, provides viewers with innovative home ideas and improvements, as well as the latest information, trends and products for the home.

“Home & Family is a true standout – unlike anything else on television — and we are incredibly proud of this show,” said Michelle Vicary, executive vice president of programming for Crown Media Family Networks. “Our viewers have asked for more episodes and we are happy to deliver.”
