Apple TV+ Saturday continued its run of new series renewals in advance of their premieres with the greenlighting of a second season of comedy series Mythic Quest: Raven’s Banquet.

The series, which debuts on Feb. 7, is set in a video game development studio and stars Rob McElhenney, F. Murray Abraham and Imani Hakim, said the streaming service during its Television Critics Association press winter press tour session. Mythic Quest: Raven’s Banquet is produced by David Hornsby.

In other Apple TV+ news, the service has set a March 6 date for the reboot of Steven Spielberg’s 1980s anthology series Amazing Stories. The service will also debut it's unscripted series Home on April 17; its drama/thriller series Defending Jacob -- starring Chris Evans -- on April 24; UK-based comedy series Trying on May 1; and docu-series Dear -- from producer R.J. Cutler that will chronicle the lives of such iconic celebrities as Oprah Winfrey, Stevie Wonder and Spike Lee -- on June 5.

Alphabet has tapped company vet – and former Excite@Home exec – Jonathan Rosenberg to a counselor to the company’s Access unit as it tries to get a grip on the future of Google Fiber, Bloomberg reported.

Google Fiber declined to common on the report, but moving Rosenberg (pictured) into that slot would follow confirmation that Craig Barratt, CEO of Access, was stepping down from that role and into an advisor role, and as Google Fiber pauses its ambitious expansion plan to instead focus on existing deployments and the use of potentially less expensive wireless broadband technologies.

Bloomberg said Rosenberg, a trusted advisor to Google co-founder and Alphabet CEO Larry Page, was tapped to help Google’s robotics division in early 2015.

Per his Linked In profile, Rosenberg joined Google in 2002 to help then-CEO Eric Schmidt’s team build and run the company’s product and marketing organizations, and oversaw the launch of products such as Adwords.

He also served as an exec of Excite@Home, the MSO-backed venture that pioneered cable’s move into broadband but filed for bankruptcy in 2001. Milo Medin, who has had a major role at Google Fiber, is the former CTO of Excite@Home

Prior to Excite@Home, Rosenberg was an executive producer at Apple. 

FX Networks has added box office hits Furious 7, Home and The Longest Ride to its stable of hit movies as part of a multi-film licensing deal the network announced Thursday.

Furious 7 has grossed more than $250 million at the box office, while the animated Home has earned $130 million, said FX. The Longest Ride has garnered $15 million since its April 10 premiere, according to Box Office Mojo.

FX has also secured exclusive TV rights for its FX, FXX and FXM networks for Taken 3 and Kingsman: The Secret Service, $125 million domestic box office threshold, network executives said.
