                                <p><a href="https://www.nexttv.com/news/frndly-tv"><u>Frndly TV</u></a>, the low-priced, family-friendly streaming TV service, said it made a deal with Scripps Networks to bring Ion, Ion Mystery and Grit to its customers .</p><p>The Scripps channels increase the number of live channels Frndly TV offers basic subscribers to 45.</p><p>The price for Frndly’s base tier remains $6.99 a month.</p><p><a href="https://www.nexttv.com/news/vmvpd-frndly-tv-grows-40-to-top-7000000-subs"><u>Also: vMVPD Frndly TV Grows 40% To Top 700,000 Subs</u></a></p><p>Scripps Networks has been working to <a href="https://www.nexttv.com/news/more-scripps-channels-go-fast-in-deal-with-vizio"><u>maximize distribution of its channels</u></a> over the air, via FAST (free, ad-supported television) channels and with virtual multichannel video programming distributors (vMVPDs) like Frndly TV.</p><p>Last month Scripps reached a deal with Alphabet that includes getting three of its networks —<u> </u><a href="https://www.nexttv.com/news/scripps-networks-get-carriage-on-google-youtube-platforms"><u>Scripps News, Ion and Bounce</u></a> — on <a href="https://www.nexttv.com/news/youtube-tv-everything-you-need-to-know-about-one-of-the-fastest-growing-virtual-pay-tv-services">YouTube TV</a>. ■</p>

                                <p><a href="https://www.nexttv.com/tag/directv"><u>DirecTV</u></a> said it has added <a href="https://www.nexttv.com/tag/bounce"><u>Bounce</u></a> and Grit, two of <a href="https://www.nexttv.com/tag/ew-scripps"><u>E.W. Scripps</u></a>’ digital multicast networks, to its satellite system, effective Thursday.</p><p>For Scripps, it is part of <a href="https://www.nexttv.com/news/more-scripps-channels-go-fast-in-deal-with-vizio"><u>an ongoing effort to put its channels on multiple distribution platforms</u></a> in addition to over-the air. It has free, ad-supported streaming television (FAST) versions of seven of its networks on most major distributors.</p><figure class="van-image-figure pull-right inline-layout" data-bordeaux-image-check ><div class='image-full-width-wrapper'><div class='image-widthsetter' style="max-width:635px;"><p class="vanilla-image-block" style="padding-top:56.22%;"><img id="YhRzW5mrGjCFAf9T8hwqxR" name="Grit logo.png" alt="Grit logo" src="https://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/YhRzW5mrGjCFAf9T8hwqxR.png" mos="" align="right" fullscreen="" width="635" height="357" attribution="" endorsement="" class="pull-right"></p></div></div></figure><p>“Bounce is the fastest growing Black-audience-focused network on television, and the enormous popularity of the western genre has made Grit a hot and highly-rated network as well,” said Jeffrey Wolf, chief distribution officer for Scripps Networks division. “DirecTV recognizes the importance and value in offering both networks, and we look forward to their customers enjoying Bounce and Grit for years to come.”</p><p>In May, <a href="https://www.nexttv.com/news/directv-stream">DirecTV Stream</a>, the company’s virtual MVPD, started streaming Grit and Bounce. It also launched NBCUniversal&apos;s Cozi TV.</p><p><a href="https://www.nexttv.com/news/exclusive-bounce-tv-new-broadcast-net-aimed-african-americans-launch-fall-37725">Bounce, originally launched as a digital multicast channel</a>, is on DirecTV channel 82. Bounce XL, the FAST version, is on platforms including The Roku Channel, Vizio WatchFree Plus, <a href="https://www.nexttv.com/news/samsung-tv-plus-everything-you-need-to-know">Samsung TV Plus</a>, Tubi, <a href="https://www.nexttv.com/news/amazon-freevee-imdb-tv">Freevee</a>, Xumo, TCL and Pluto TV.</p><p><a href="https://www.nexttv.com/news/exclusive-bounce-tv-exec-plans-two-new-channels-130235">Grit, which also started out as a multicast channel</a> is on channel 81.                                 <p>The National Cable Television Cooperative reached a multiyear affiliation deal with Katz Networks.</p><p>The agreement makes Katz’s networks: Bounce, Court TV, Court TV Mystery, Grit, Laff and streaming service Brown Sugar available to the 750 broadband and cable operators who are part of the NCTC.</p><p>“We’re thrilled to strike this agreement with NCTC and we look forward to building strong partnerships with their members,” said Jeffrey Wolf, Chief Distribution Officer, Katz Networks.</p><p>Katz. a division of the E.W. Scripps Co., operate mulit-platform networks that target specific demographics. Many of the networks were launched by TV stations as digital broadcast services, but more recently have been available via cable and streaming.</p>
