NBC’s The Wiz Live! Special dominated social media last night, drawing more nearly 1.7 million tweets, according to Nielsen.

NBC’s special drew 1.63 million tweets in front of a unique audience of 6.3 million Twitter users, according to Nielsen’s Daily Twitter TV Ratings. The Wiz Live! easily bested ABC’s CMA County Christmas, which drew 27,000 tweets reaching 616,000 unique Twitter users.

The CW’s Vampire Diaries, Syfy’s SmackDown! And The CW’s The Originals rounded out the top five most social television shows on Thursday.

The Green Bay Packers’ last second win over the Detroit Lions during last night’s NFL Network/CBS’ Thursday Night Football telecast was the most tweeted sports event for the day, averaging 716,000 Tweets in front of 6.0 million Twitter users, according to Nielsen.
