                                <p>Lifetime will develop a prequel to the V.C. Andrews classic novel <em>Flowers in the Attic, </em>the network said Tuesday during its TCA Summer Press Tour presentation.</p><p>The four-part <em>Flowers in the Attic: The Origin </em>stars Jermina Rooper and Max Irons as Olivia Winfield and Malcolm Foxworth, parents to Corrine Foxworth and grandparents to Cathy and Chris Dollanganger, according to the network. After the two become involved in a whirlwind romance, Winfield soon discovers that the fairytale life she expected has quickly become a nightmare, said Lifetime officials. </p><p>Also starring in the series are Harry Hamlin, Kelsey Grammer, Paul Wesley, Kate Mulgrew, Alana Boden, Hanna Dodd, T’Shan Williams and Callum Kerr. </p><p>The project marks the latest Lifetime project based on the <em>Flowers in the Attic</em> franchise, following 2014’s <em>Flowers In The Attic</em> adaptation as well as sequel <em>Petals on the Wind</em>.</p><p><a href="https://www.nexttv.com/news/aande-to-develop-secrets-of-playboy-series">Read Also: A&E to Develop &apos;Secrets of Playboy&apos; Series </a></p>

Andrews’ series of novels that began with <em>Flowers In The Attic</em>. Lifetime aired <em>Flowers In The Attic</em> in January drawing more than 6 million viewers, while the second movie in the series, <em>Petals In The Wind</em>, garnered more than 3 million viewers this past May.</p><p>The network has already commissioned a movie based on the third film in the series<em>, If There Be Thorns</em>, which will debut in 2015.</p><p><em>Seeds of Yesterday</em> is produced by A+E Studios for Lifetime, with Dan Angel (<em>If There Be Thorns</em>), Jane Startz (<em>If There Be Thorns</em>) and Jocelyn Freid (<em>Maneater</em>) serving as executive producers.</p>

Andrews series about the beleaguered Dollanganger family, will premiere May 26 at 9 p.m., said network officials. <em>Flowers In The Attic,</em> which stared Heather Graham (<em>Drugstore Cowboy</em>) and Ellen Burstyn (<em>Political Animals</em>), drew 6.1 million viewers in its Jan. 18 premiere, the most watched made for cable movie so far in 2014.</p><p>Lifetime is also developing three additional V.C. Andrews’ books, including <em>If There Be Thorns,</em><em>Seeds of Yesterday</em>, and <em>My Sweet Audrina,</em> said network officials.</p>
