Starring Good Morning America co-host Lara Spencer (pictured), the series pits two teams of avid flea-market patrons against each other to find, fix up and flip projects to win a $5,000 cash prize. Spencer, who also serves as creator and executive producer, is a designer and longtime flea-market fan who will continue to lead the action in 14 new half-hour episodes, HGTV said.

This year, more than 13.8 million viewers have tuned in to Flea Market Flip, enough to keep it a top-five program on the Scripps Networks outlet among upscale women ages 25-54 in daytime (Monday-Sunday, 7 a.m.-8 p.m.).

“Flea Market Flip is a series that consistently delivers a solid audience for us,” Allison Page, general manager, HGTV, DIY Network and Great American Country, said in a release. “A huge part of its success is Lara’s appeal and her impressive knowledge and expertise in this space.”

Teams on Flea Market Flip have one hour to shop and a $500 budget with which to scour a flea market and find potential treasures. After searching, haggling and brainstorming on the fly, the teams transform the drab and sometimes weird finds into top-notch designs that they can sell the following day at a different flea market, per HGTV. The competitors must attract customers, negotiate and at times, put on a show, to sell their wares. The team making the most profit walks away with bragging rights and the cash prize.
