Hallmark Channel’s original movie My Boyfriends’ Dogs fetched high ratings marks for the network among its core female audience.

The movie, which starred Erika Christensen (Parenthood) as a single woman looking for love while adopting her ex-boyfriends’ pups, drew 1.7 million viewers in its 9 p.m. to 11 p.m. time period, the third most watched Hallmark original movie thus far in 2014, according to the network.

The movie finished as the most watched original film of the year to date among its core female 25-54 audience, drawing 401,000 viewers in the demo, according to network officials.

Joyce DeWitt (Three’s Company), Teryl Rothery (Debbie Macomber’s Cedar Cove), Emily Holmes (Snakes on a Plane), Jeremy Guilbaut (The L.A. Complex), Tyron Leitso (Being Erica), and Jesse Hutch (Arrow) also starred in the film, part of the network’s Pet Project initiative to help homeless animals find safe and loving homes.
