                                <p><a href="https://www.nexttv.com/tag/bet-plus">BET Plus </a>will continue to partner with actress/comedian Patricia ‘Ms. Pat’ Williams, renewing Williams’ courtroom series <a href="https://www.nexttv.com/tag/ms-pat-settles-it"><em>Ms. Pat Settles It</em></a> and setting a May premiere date for <a href="https://www.nexttv.com/tag/the-ms-pat-show"><em>The</em> <em>Ms. Pat Show</em></a><em>.</em></p><p>The second season of <em>Ms. Pat Settles It</em> stars the comedian as she takes on cases revolving around family and relationship dynamics, according to the streaming services. With a jury composed of Williams’ closest friends, family members, celebrity guest stars, and comedians, the series will focus on a wide array of cases encompassing financial disputes, romantic entanglements, roommate quarrels, neighborly conflicts, and a myriad of other issues, said BET Plus.</p><p><a href="https://www.nexttv.com/tag/emmy-award">Emmy-nominated</a><em> The Ms. Pat Show</em> will return for a fourth season on May 23, and will continue to feature Williams in a starring role as a former drug dealer and convicted felon turned suburban mom. The series also stars<a href="https://www.nexttv.com/news/j-bernard-calloway-in-emmy-mode-with-starring-role-in-the-ms-pat-show-multicultural-perspectives"> J. Bernard Calloway</a> and Ashley James. </p><p>The two series are part of a multi-year production deal between Williams and <a href="https://www.nexttv.com/tag/bet-media-group">BET Media Group</a>, according to the company. Under this deal, she will produce and perform in other projects across the network.</p>

                                <p>Award-winning actor Louis Gossett Jr., the first Black man to win an <a href="https://www.nexttv.com/tag/academy-award">Academy Award </a>for Best Supporting Actor, <a href="https://www.cnn.com/2024/03/29/entertainment/louis-gossett-jr-death/index.html">has died at the age of 87.</a></p><p>Gossett appeared in more than 110 television shows and 68 films over a seven decade Hollywood career. He won a 1977 <a href="https://www.nexttv.com/tag/emmy-award">Emmy Award</a> for his role in ABC&apos;s groundbreaking TV miniseries <em>Roots.</em></p><p>Other television shows Gossett appeared in include <em>The Mod Squad, The Partridge Family</em>, <em>The Cosby Show, The Jeffersons, The Josephine Baker Story, Touched By An Angel and </em><a href="https://www.nexttv.com/blog/gossett-nets-need-courage-bring-more-african-american-stories-tv-388017"><em>The Book of Negroes</em></a><em>.</em> In 2020, Gossett’s appearance in <a href="https://www.nexttv.com/tag/hbo">HBO’s</a> drama series <em>Watchmen</em> earned him the last of his eight Emmy nominations. </p><p>On the big screen, Gossett in 1983 received an Oscar for his role as a no-nonsense Marine drill sergeant in <em>An Officer and a Gentleman</em>, which starred Richard Gere. Most recently Gossett appeared in the 2023 film <em>The Color Purple.</em></p><p>Celebrities such as Colman Domingo, Stephanie Mills and Sheryl Lee Ralph took to social media in tribute to Gossett.                                 <p><a href="https://www.nexttv.com/tag/hbo">HBO</a> will say goodbye to assassin/actor Barry Berkman as the network’s <a href="https://www.nexttv.com/tag/emmy">Emmy-award </a>winning series <em>Barry</em> will end its run after season four.</p><p><br></p><div class="youtube-video" data-nosnippet ><div class="video-aspect-box"><iframe data-lazy-priority="high" data-lazy-src="https://www.youtube-nocookie.com/embed/xW7Ld5iwRnQ" allowfullscreen></iframe></div></div><p><em>Barry</em> will launch its eight-episode, fourth and final season on April 16, according to HBO. <em>Barry</em> follows Berkman, played by Bill Hader, who works as a reluctant hitman who changes course and joins a class of aspiring actors but is never able to escape his past.</p><p>The series has won multiple Emmy Awards, including two for Hader in the outstanding lead actor in a comedy category and a supporting actor in a comedy series award for Henry Winkler.</p><p>Along with Hader and Winkler, the series stars Sarah Goldberg, Stephen Root, Anthony Carrigan and Sarah Burns.</p><p><em>Barry </em>is executive produced by Hader, Alex Berg, Aida Rodgers and Liz Sarnoff.</p><p>“After three masterful seasons of <em>Barry</em>, we are eager for viewers to see the powerful, complex and hilarious conclusion to Barry Berkman’s story," HBO and HBO Max Comedy Programming Executive VP Amy Gravitt said in a statement. Working with multiple hardware and software partners, Canoe built a dynamic ad insertion (DAI) platform and integrated it with the unique VOD infrastructures of the four founding MVPDs.  </p><p>Today, VOD represents 15-20% of all television viewing while Canoe serves 85% of the 45 million U.S. households with VOD, resulting in an estimated $1.5 billion market.</p><p>Canoe will be honored at the 72nd Annual Technology & Engineering Emmy Awards Ceremony, which is tentatively scheduled to be done virtually on Oct. 10.</p>
