The Emma Bowen Foundation for Minority Interests in Media, which promotes career opportunities for "diverse storytellers and media professionals" with the help of its corporate sponsors, is looking for new candidates for its media career path program.

The foundation provides "students of color with multi-year paid internships at some of the nation’s leading media companies."

The foundation says it will be accepting fellowship applications (http://www.emmabowenfoundation.com/application_info) through May, but suggests priority consideration will go to those submitted soon (by Jan. 8).

The fellowships focus on "scholastic achievement, direct work experience and professional development."

Diversity organization Emma Bowen Foundation is teaming up with TLC on the cable’s network’s fifth annual Say Yes to the Prom initiative, which provides a full prom experience to high school girls around the country.

TLC will offer internship opportunities to college-aged students of color participating in the Emma Bowen program as part of its Say Yes To The Prom program.  In 2016 the network will conduct its SYTTP initiative in five cities around the country, with Discovery employees pairing up with high school girls to help them prepare for their proms, said TLC executives.

“Welcoming the Emma Bowen Foundation as a national partner for this year’s Say Yes to the Prom initiative is an extension of a long-time partnership that Discovery has had with the organization and something that will ultimately further our commitment to diversity and inclusion and make an even greater and longer-lasting impact on this year’s deserving prom participants,” said Adria Alpert Romm, Chief Human Resources and Global Diversity Officer, Discovery Communications.
