Apple TV Plus has tapped veteran actress Eva Longoria to star in a new original dramedy series Land of Women, the streaming service said Tuesday.

The six-episode series, based on Sandra Barneda's best selling novel of the same name, stars Longoria as a New York empty nester whose life is turned upside down when her husband implicates the family in financial improprieties, forcing her to flee to Spain alongside her aging mother and college-age daughter, said Apple TV Plus. Also starring in Land of Women is Carmen Maura.

Land Of Women will be shot in both English and Spanish and made available to watch in each language, according to the streaming service. The series is executive produced by Longoria, Ramón Campos, Teresa Fernández-Valdés and Ben Spector.■

Fox has ordered drama The Big Leap to series for next season. The show is “a big-hearted, rowdy dramedy,” according to Fox, about a group of down-on-their-luck characters attempting to change their lives by participating in a reality dance show that builds to a live production of Swan Lake. 

“What this group of underdogs lack in dance training, they make up for with their edge, wit and desire to reimagine an iconic story to fit their own mold,” said Fox. “The Big Leap is a modern tale about second chances and chasing your dreams and taking back what's yours.”

The cast includes Scott Foley, Simone Recasner, Ser'Darius Blain, Jon Rudnitsky and Raymond Cham Jr., along with Piper Perabo and Teri Polo.

The Big Leap is inspired by a U.K. reality format. Jason Winer directs the pilot. 

20th Television and Fox Entertainment produce the show. The executive producers are Liz Heldens, Jason Winer and Sue Naegle. 

Hulu will stream the first three seasons of TV Land’s dramedy series Younger ahead of next week’s season four premiere as part of a deal between the OTT service and Viacom.

All past episodes of the series, which stars Sutton Foster and Hilary Duff, are now available to stream on Hulu, according to company officials. Younger premieres its fourth season on June 28. 

The series, which has already been greenlit for a fifth season, is created, executive produced and written by Darren Star, with Dottie Zicklin and Eric Zicklin also serving as executive producers and writers on the series. 

Younger is the latest series from a Viacom-owned network to secure streaming rights with Hulu, joining CMT's Nashville, and Comedy Central's Broad City and South Park.
