Former Fox News reporter Dominic Di-Natale, 43, has died, the news channel reports.

According to Fox News, Di-Natale, who resigned Nov. 30, took his own life Dec. 10 in Jefferson County, Colo., where he owned property. Fox cited a county coroner's report in the cause of death. His body was reportedly discovered by authorities "alerted by a friend who knew of his state of mind regarding serious undisclosed health issues," said Fox.

Di-Natale had most recently covered the Ferguson, Mo., riots for Fox News, freelancing out of Fox's L.A. bureau.

He joined Fox in 2007, covering international news for Fox News, and contributed to Fox Business Network.

"We were extremely saddened to learn of Dominic’s passing and send our deepest condolences to his family and friends,” a Fox News spokesperson said in a statement. “He was an esteemed journalist and an integral part of our news coverage throughout the Middle East.”

Di-Natale's reporting had taken him from Osama Bin Laden's compound to demonstrations in Tahrir Square. He began his career as a print reporter in Portugal covering the European drug trade, and was later a correspondent for BBC World.

Survivors include his father, Camillio.
