Fox News easily outdistanced its cable network competitors in winning its fifth-straight weekly summer primetime ratings race.

Fox News, averaged 2.4 million viewers during the week of July 4 to July 10, besting second place HGTV 1.6 million viewers for top honors, said network officials. USA Network was third with 1.3 million viewers, followed by a three-way tie for fourth place between History, Disney Channel and TBS, all averaging 1.2 million viewers, according to Nielsen.

Discovery Channel and TNT (tied with 1 million viewers), Food Network (995,000) and FX (960,000) rounded out the top 10 most watched networks for the week.

Fox News also triumphed on a 24-hour basis, holding off Nickelodeon, Disney Channel, Cartoon Network and Adult Swim.

Turner networks TBS and Adult Swim were the most watched networks among 18-49 year olds in primetime and on a total day basis respectively.
