According to its Global Online TV & Video Revenue Forecasts, Digital TV Research expects the U.S. share of the OTT market to dip from 59% ($2.3 billion) of total revenue in 2010 to 37% ($15.5 billion) in 2020 as international markets catch up. China, for example, is expected to grow its online TV and video revenue from $37 million in 2010 to $3.03 billion by 2020, according to the report.

Digital TV Research also expects subscription video on demand revenue to rise from $7.65 billion in 2014 to $16.77 billion in 2020. According to the study, SVOD will contribute 40% of total OTT revenues in 2020, up from 27% in 2010.
