Star, best known for Sex and the City, Beverly Hills 90210 and TV Land’s Younger, will create projects for the Entertainment & Youth Group’s linear channels and work through MTV Studios. 

“Darren is a creative force behind some of the most seminal shows of our time and we are thrilled he will continue to call ViacomCBS his home as we rapidly expand our studios business,” said Chris McCarthy, president, ViacomCBS Entertainment and Youth Group.

The projects will be overseen by Keith Cox, president of E&Y Studios.

“I am thrilled to continue this journey with Keith, Nina, Chris and the ViacomCBS Entertainment and Youth Group. They inspire me with their passion and vision. I feel very fortunate to have a home that allows me to create content for all platforms," said Star.

Star’s Younger recently wrapped its sixth season with its highest-rated season finale.

The Darren Star-produced series --which stars Sutton Foster as a 40-year old woman who pretends to be 26 in order to get a competitive publishing job -- will debut its third season on Sept. 28, according to the network.

The series also stars Hilary Duff, Debi Mazar, Miriam Shor, Nico Tortorella, Peter Hermann and Molly Bernard.

“The show is a force in and of itself, so it’s a no-brainer to renew it again,” said Keith Cox, Executive Vice President of Development and Original Programming for the network in a statement. “Critics and fans love it, and I know Darren and the entire cast and crew behind ‘Younger’ will continue to deliver at the top of their game.”

Star, who produces the network’s comedy Younger, will produce anther project with the network, according to Keith Cox, TV Land’s executive vice president of development and original programming.

The network also announced it will develop a new adaptation of comedy hit The First Wives Club, which will be executively produced by Jenny Bicks (Sex and the City), as well as an untitled pilot based on the life of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Kyle Richards produced by John Wells (Shameless) and John Riggi (The Comeback ).

The network has also renewed its freshman comedy series Teachers for a 20-episode second season.
