Bounce said its original series Saints & Sinners will conclude with season six, which will have its debut on April 3.

“Saints & Sinners has been a breakthrough success, attracting a huge and loyal fanbase and taking them on a rollercoaster ride every season,” said David Hudson, head of original programming for Bounce and an executive producer of the series. “We thank our amazing cast and crew for an incredible run and look forward to sharing the final eight episodes with viewers Sunday nights this spring.”

The series is set in a large southern church where greed, corruption, six and murder drive he story. Vanessa Bell Calloway and Clifton Powell star with an ensemble featuring Tray Chaney, Keith Robinson, J.D. Williams, Jasmine Burke, Donna Biscoe, Christian Keyes, Dawn Halfkenny, Karlie Redd, Ashani Roberts and Kaye Singleton.

Viewers can catch up on past seasons of Saints & Sinners on Brown Sugar, Bounce’s subscription video-on-demand service. Episodes from season six will be added to Brown Sugar on a weekly basis on Mondays after they premiere on Bounce Sunday nights.

Saints & Sinners is produced in partnership with Swirl Film’s Eric Tomosunas & Ron Robinson. Nigel Campbell serves as the showrunner/executive producer of the series.

The National Cable Television Cooperative reached a multiyear affiliation deal with Katz Networks.

The agreement makes Katz’s networks: Bounce, Court TV, Court TV Mystery, Grit, Laff and streaming service Brown Sugar available to the 750 broadband and cable operators who are part of the NCTC.

“We’re thrilled to strike this agreement with NCTC and we look forward to building strong partnerships with their members,” said Jeffrey Wolf, Chief Distribution Officer, Katz Networks.

Katz. a division of the E.W. Scripps Co., operate mulit-platform networks that target specific demographics. Many of the networks were launched by TV stations as digital broadcast services, but more recently have been available via cable and streaming.

Bounce TV’s SVOD movie service Brown Sugar is now available on Amazon Fire TV, the company announced Thursday.

Amazon customers with Fire TV or a Fire TV Stick can now access the $3.99 per month service, which features popular African-American-themed movies from the 1970s and 1980s, said network officials.

Brown Sugar, which launched last November, is already available for Amazon Kindle Fire tablets as well as for mobile phones and tablets in the Amazon Appstore, Google Play Store and iTunes App Store, and for computers at www.BrownSugar.com. 

Brown Sugar features such great movies as Dolemite, Jackie Brown, Cotton Comes to Harlem, Foxy Brown, Cooley High, Blacula, Don’t Be a Menace to South Central, Pride, A Soldier’s Story, Black Caesar, Which Way Is Up?, Hammer, Richard Pryor: Live on the Sunset Strip, Car Wash and The Original Gangstas as well as acclaimed documentaries such as More Than a Game, chronicling the early days of LeBron James.

Bounce TV’s Brown Sugar OTT service will add boxing to its lineup of classic African-American films when it steams live a June 30 Premier Boxing Champions fight card.

The SVOD service will offer the Robert Easter-Denis Shafkov fight card live, the first time Brown Sugar has offered a live boxing card. Bounce has carried several Premier Boxing Champions events over the past year. 

Brown Sugar, which offers a lineup of classic 1970s and 1980s African-American targeted films, is available on computers, mobile phones and tablets for $3.99 a month.

VRV, a new SVOD aggregation/bundling service, and Brown Sugar, a recently launched SVOD focused on popular African-American-themed movies from the 1970s and 1980s, both extended support this week to Google’s Chromecast streaming adapter.

Brown Sugar, which sells for $3.99 per month and features titles such as The Mack, Foxy Brown, Shaft and Super Fly, is also supported on Web browsers and iOS and Android mobile devices.

VRV, from Ellation, offers a mix of individual SVOD services focused on fans of anime, animation, gaming, comedy, fantasy and technology, as well as a combo package that runs $9.99 per month. VRV also supports Android and iOS mobile devices and Xbox One and PS4 consoles.

Bounce TV today has launched an over the top streaming service featuring the popular African-American-themed movies from the 1970s and 1980s.

The service, dubbed Brown Sugar, will feature an unedited and commercial free library of 1970s films often referred to as “Blaxploitation” movies like Black Caesar, Shaft, Super Fly, Uptown Saturday Night and CleopatraJones, said company officials. The service will cost $3.99 per month with a free initial trial period for subscribers.

Veteran actors Fred Williamson and Pam Grier have been named officials ambassadors for Brown Sugar, which was initially the official name of a Saturday night movie programming block on Bounce.

Grier in a statement said that the service is “just like Netflix, only blacker.”

Subscribers can download Brown Sugar to mobile phones and tablets in the Google Play Store and iTunes App Store, or access the service via the www.BrownSugar.com site, said company officials.
