Bret Baier, Fox News chief political anchor, interviews former President Donald Trump Monday, June 19. It’s Baier’s first sit-down with Trump since 2018. It will air during Fox News Channel’s Special Report with Bret Baier at 6 p.m. ET, and will focus on the Republican presidential primary. 

Baier, who joined Fox News in 1998, is host and executive editor of Special Report. He took over the show from Brit Hume late in 2008.

Special Report has averaged over 2.2 million viewers a night this year. 

Baier has been a moderator for the Fox News editions of The Senate Project debates, a coalition between the Bipartisan Policy Center, the Orrin G. Hatch Foundation and the Edward M. Kennedy Institute, which hosts senators from different ends of the political spectrum. He will moderate the next debate June 12, featuring Sens. Joni Ernst (R-Iowa) and Jeanne Shaheen (D-N.H.). That will stream live on Fox Nation at 11 a.m. ET.  

Bret Baier, chief political anchor at Fox News Channel, will moderate the third installment of The Senate Project series, which features senators from different ends of the political spectrum debating key issues. Sens. Joni Ernst (R-Iowa) and Jeanne Shaheen (D-N.H.) are featured. It takes place Monday, June 12 at 11 a.m. ET at the Edward M. Kennedy Institute for the United States Senate in Boston. The event will run live, commercial-free on Fox Nation and will air on Fox News Channel Sunday, June 18 at 10 p.m. ET.  

The hourlong event will focus on foreign policy, homeland security and other issues.

In 2022, Baier moderated The Senate Project’s inaugural debate between Sens. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) and Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), which was live streamed on Fox Nation. The second installment had Sens. Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) and Rob Portman (R-Ohio).

The Senate Project was inspired by the political bridge-building established by the late Sens. Ted Kennedy, a Massachusetts Democrat, and Orrin Hatch, a Utah Republican, according to Fox News. 

A fourth Senate Project debate is being planned for September in Washington, D.C.

Fox News unveiled a new Washington newsroom and studios with a ribbon-cutting Thursday night (Sept. 30) in advance of the top-rated cable news network's 25th anniversary Oct. 7.

Fox Corp. CEO Lachlan Murdoch did the ribbon-cutting honors for the newly reopened bureau, flanked by Fox News Media CEO Suzanne Scott and president and executive editor Jay Wallace. 

Actually, it is two studios, a digital tech platform for video graphics and a reconfigured newsroom according to Bret Baier, who reported on the new digs on Special Report.

The studio’s Green Room is named after the late Fox contributor Charles Krauthammer and the new radio studio after the late host of Fox News Sunday, Tony Snow.

Fox News has signed on-air anchor Bret Baier to a new multi-year deal extension, the network said Thursday.

Baier, who hosts and serves as executive producer of Fox News' Special Report evening news show, will also return as the network’s chief political anchor as part of the extension. Baier signed a multi-year deal with Fox News in 2019. 

“Bret has masterfully covered some of the most consequential news stories of our time and we’re thrilled to have him continue his extraordinary journalism career at Fox News for many years to come,” Fox News Media CEO Suzanne Scott said.

Prior to his anchor role, Baier -- who joined Fox News in 1998 -- served as Fox News' chief White House correspondent in 2006 and as national security correspondent. Before joining the network, Baier worked for WRAL-TV (CBS 5) in Raleigh, NC, WREX-TV (NBC 13) in Rockford, IL and WJWJ-TV (PBS 2) in Beaufort, SC. 

Fox News is planning extensive live coverage of Tuesday's (Jan. 5) run-off elections for two Georgia Senate seats. The results will determine whether Republicans or Democrats control that chamber.

Coverage begins Monday night (Jan. 4) with a two-hour special (6-8 p.m.), The Battle for America: The Georgia Senate Runoffs with Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum, hosted by Special Report's Baier and The Story's McCallum.

On Tuesday, Bill Hemmer will anchor Bill Hemmer Reports at 3 p.m. from Atlanta, while MacCallum will guest anchor Your World with Neil Cavuto (4 p.m.), also from Georgia.

Hemmer will break down the numbers on election eve while anchor Shannon Bream will report from Washington on Fox News Vote Analysis data.

Also pitching in on election coverage will be Fox News Sunday's Chris Wallace, senior political analyst Brit Hume The Five's Dana Perino and Jual Williams, as well as correspondents deployed throughout the state.

Gillian Turner and Jon Scott will anchor overnight coverage at 1-4 a.m.

Fox News Friday announced that Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton will join fellow candidate Sen. Bernie Sanders for ithe network's  March 7 Democratic Town Hall telecast.

Clinton’s appearance on Fox News will be the first for the former Secretary of State since 2014. The one-hour Fox News Special Report event will be held in Detroit and will be moderated by Fox News’ chief political anchor Bret Baier, according to the network.

Baier co-moderated last night’s Fox News' Republican Presidential debate telecast, which generated 16.9 million viewers, said network officials.
