Disney Channel will debut in June the sequel to its successful Teen Beach 2 original movie, the network said Wednesday.

Teen Beach 2 will premiere on Disney Channel June 26, but will be available a week earlier on the WATCH Disney Channel app and WATCHDisneyChannel.com, said network officials. Ross Lynch (Austin & Ally) and Maia Mitchell (The Fosters) will reprise their roles from the first film, which finished as the network’s second highest-rated movie.

On the same day Disney will release the Teen Beach 2 DVD, featuring never-before-seen dance rehearsal bonus feature and an exclusive friendship necklace.

On June 27, the movie will be available for download purchase on iTunes, Amazon and Google Play, Disney said.

Teen Beach 2 will also provide a lead in to the network’s new original series Best Friends Whenever, which stars Lauren Taylor (Richie Rich) and Landry Bender (Disney XD's Crash & Bernstein) as time traveling teen best friends, said network officials.

Disney Channel has greenlit a new comedy series, Best Friends Whenever, the network announced Friday.

The series stars Landry Bender (Disney XD's Crash & Bernstein) and newcomer Lauren Taylor as who when a science experiment goes wrong, become unstuck in time, leaping forward and backward whenever they want – and sometimes even when they don't. The series will debut this Fall, according to Disney.

Michael Kaplan (Dog With A Blog), along Jed Elinoff and Scott Thomas (both of Disney XD's Randy Cunningham: 9th Grade Ninja) will serve as executive producers, while Shelley Jensen (Austin & Ally, Good Luck Charlie) will direct multiple episodes.
