Next Influencer, a reality competition for social content creators, is moving to ViacomCBS’s Paramount Plus for season three.

Produced by ViacomCBS’s Gen Z studio Awesomeness, the first two seasons of Next Influencer were streamed on Awesomeness’ YouTube channel. 

Season three is set to premiere January 13, when the first five episodes will be released. The remaining five episodes will drop once a week. 

Owen Holt, a TikTok star and past winner of Next Influencer, will be the host. Vibe Room, a new weekly podcast hosted by Holt that unpacks each Next Influencer episode, will premiere on January 16 on Spotify and Apple Podcasts. 

The new cast includes Taylor Olympios, Dawn Morante, Evan Lane, Carrie Berk, Talen Battles, Noah Danenhower, Noor Dabash, Sierra Reed, Kristian Ramey, Soha Khatib and Bryce McKenzie.  

One contestant will win a prize package that includes a talent contract with Awesomeness.

Episodes of Next Influencer will be available on YouTube after they debut on Paramount Plus.

Awesomeness is also opening a merchandise shop for Next Influencer and a dedicated account on TikTok that will feature exclusive behind-the-scenes content.

ViacomCBS’s Awesomeness Films and Capitol Records said they are streaming a virtual concert event marking the vinyl release of the original soundtrack of the film To All The Boys: P.S. I Still Love You on AwesomenessTV’s YouTube Channel.

The To All the Music special, premiering on July 18 at 5 p.m. PT, is hosted by Lana Condor who stars in the movie. The cast of the film will perform songs from the soundtrack and give fans inside stories about the music and the movies.

In addition to Condor, cast members appearing in the concert event include Anna Cathcart, Janel Parrish, Madeleine Arthur, Trezzo Mahoro, Emilija Baranac and Sarayu Blue.

Remote performances include Lana Condor and Anthony De La Torre covering I Like Me Better by Lauv; Janel Parrish covering About Love by Marina; Chaz Cardigan with As I’ll Ever Be; Cyn with I Can’t Believe; The New Respects with You Should Be Dancing; Ashe with Moral of the Story; Bad Child with Candy; Anna of the North with Lovers and Bahari doing Crashing.

Awesomeness is working with Save The Music Foundation to help raise money toward restoring public school music programs across the country. Throughout the special, viewers will be told about Save The Music’s mission and be invited to donate through the YouTube stream if they wish. Awesomeness is also making a $55,000 donation to fund a J Dilla Music Technology Grant at a high school in the U.S.

To All The Music is produced by Awesomeness and Skipper Creative. The special is part of Awesomeness’s Summer of Awesomeness multi-platform initiative, which provides Gen Z entertainment and engagement all summer long from the safety of home. More shows to be announced in the coming weeks.

ViacomCBS’s Awesomeness is launching a new five-part series with an episode entitled What It’s Like to Be a Black Teen in America.

The episode will appear July 11 at 5 p.m. PT on Awesomeness’ YouTube and IGTV accounts. Additional episodes of What It’s Like, looking at other topics through a Gen Z lens, will premiere monthly through November.

What It’s like to Be a Black Teen in America will feature a panel discussion moderated by filmmaker and political strategist Carri Twigg. Issues covered in the discussion include systemic racism, protesting safely, and supporting school reform.

“These are urgent conversations that require a unique lens for today’s youth. I hope teens and families come away from this safe space feeling more comfortable with fostering conversations about race and privilege, as well as some tools for how they can further support racial equity and impact positive change.”

The first episode will feature a performance by Tiana Major9 and an appearance from single-songwriter H.E.R., who will speak about the new song I Can't Breathe.

What It’s Like, produced by Awesomeness Digital Studio, is created by Christopher Babers, who also serves as director and supervising producer. Maurice James is co-director. Marta Palley serves as associate producer. Nikki Scoggins, senior VP, creative, Scott Levine, senior VP, operations and Emily Hecht, VP, creative serve as executive producers.

Awesomeness is also partnering with Made In Her Image, a nonprofit movement that creates programs to support the advancement of young girls, non-binary youths and women of color in the film, media and technology industries, by making a donation and encouraging viewers to support their mission throughout the episode.

Jordan Levin has been named  CEO of Awesomeness, the digital content J.V. focused on younger audiences that is now operated by NBCUniversal, Hearst and Verizon Communications.

Levin, most recently the chief content officer of the National Football League, replaces Brian Robbins, an AwesomenessTV co-founder who exited the company in February.

According to multiple reports, Jeff Shell, chairman of Universal Filmed Entertainment Group, announced the hiring of Levin this week in a memo, noting that Levin will work alongside Awesomeness president Brett Bouttier to oversee a portfolio that includes AwesomenessTV, Awesomeness Films, DreamWorksTV, Awestruck and the recently announced Awesomeness News.

“Jordan is currently transitioning out of his role at the NFL and will begin at Awesomeness on May 30,” Shell wrote.

Levin, a founding exec of The WB Television Network, previously was  EVP and GM of Xbox Entertainment Studios, a founder of cross-platform studio/talent firm Generate (now part of Defy Media), and previously worked with Shell at the Walt Disney Company.
