In a nod to the rapidly growing number of Latino infants born in the U.S., the Spanish-language feed of BabyFirst — the pay network devoted to child development programming — has been added to AT&T’s U-verse TV Paquete Español channel lineup.

BabyFirst’s Spanish-language service can be found on channel 3063, and is available to subscribers of the Spanish-language programming tier. The English-language service of BabyFirst is available on channel 310.

"With every third baby born in the U.S. being Latino, there is an increasing recognition among programming distributors that this community is hungry for age-appropriate content for their kids," said Sharon Rechter, BabyFirst’s executive vice president of business development and distribution. "We have enjoyed a great relationship with AT&T U-verse through its carriage of our English-language channel, and we look forward to now working with them to provide their Latino customers with the same high-quality, engaging programming experiences."  

Julie Tran, the head of foreign-language programming for AT&T U-verse, added that BabyFirst has earned a loyal audience of English speakers and will likely do the same among its Spanish-speaking subscribers. “[BabyFirst] further enhances our extensive lineup of channels aimed at diverse communities,” Tran said.

In the U.S., the English-language BabyFirst channel is available in more than 50 million homes via such distributors as DirecTV, Dish Network, Comcast, Time Warner Cable and Bright House Networks.
