BET has renewed its original series Tyler Perry’s Sistas for a fourth season as the network draws strong weekly ratings for its original series.

Tyler Perry’s Sistas follows a group of single Black women as they navigate their love lives, careers and friendships, said network officials. The network also announced that it will premiere a new edition of its The Tyler Perry Show: The Sistas After-Show Edition on Dec. 22.

The announcement comes as the network enjoyed strong ratings performances from the season premieres of several comedy series. The Oct. 12 and Oct. 13 season premieres of Tyler Perry’s House of Payne, Tyler Perry’s Assisted Living, Tyler Perry’s The Oval, Tyler Perry’s Sistas, Twenties and Twenties After-show with B. Scott drew 5.6 million viewers on a Nielsen Live+3 basis across BET and BET Her, the network said.  

 BET has greenlit additional seasons for Tyler Perry-produced series House of Payne and Assisted Living in advance of each show's season premiere later this month.

The network has renewed House of Payne for a ninth season prior to the comedy’s eighth season debut on May 25. The series, which initially aired on TBS for its first six seasons and premiered its seventh season on BET last year, stars LaVan Davis, Cassi Davis Patton, Allen Payne, Lance Gross, and Keshia Knight Pulliam.

Assisted Living, which stars David and Tamela Mann as well as J. Anthony Brown and Na’im Lynn, has been renewed for a third season in advance of its second season premiere on May 25.

BET Networks will team with producer Tyler Perry for two original series, including a revival of Perry's original comedy series House Of Payne.

Tyler Perry’s House of Payne will return for a seventh season -- the first six aired on TBS from 2007-2012 -- featuring the show's original cast, according to BET. The series, which stars LaVan Davis, Cassie Davis Patton, Lance Gross, Demetria McKinney, China Anne McClain, Larramie Shaw and Keshia Knight Pulliam, picks up five years after the end of the original show as the family continues to navigate the problems of life with their quirky modern-day family, said the network

OWN in 2018 launched a House of Payne spinoff -- The Paynes -- starring Davis and Patton. 

BET also announced a new original series, Tyler Perry’s Assisted Living, will star David and Tamela Mann reprising their characters of Leroy and Cora Brown from Perry’s Meet The Browns series. In Assistant Living, the Browns are investors of a run-down home for the elderly in the backwoods of Georgia run by Jeremy (Na’im Lynn), the patriarch of a young family with teenage children, and his crazy grandfather Vinny (J. Anthony Brown), according to BET.

Both Tyler Perry’s House Of Payne and Tyler Perry’s Assisted Living, will premiere on BET this summer.
