                                <p><em>American Gods</em> will not see a fourth season on Starz. The fantasy drama came from a Neil Gaiman novel. Fremantle produced <em>American Gods</em>. </p><p>The premise of <em>American Gods</em> is, Shadow Moon is told his wife has been killed just before he gets out of prison. He meets con man Mr. Wednesday and becomes his driver and bodyguard. Shadow finds himself in a hidden fantasy world where magic exists. The New Gods battle against the Old Gods. </p><p>Ricky Whittle played Shadow Moon. Ian McShane portrayed Mr. Wednesday. Emily Browning was Shadow’s wife Laura. Crispin Glover played Mr. World. </p><p>The show premiered in 2017. Bryan Fuller and Michael Green were the original showrunners. Jesse Alexander was showrunner in season two and <a href="https://www.nexttv.com/news/american-gods-renewed-on-starz">Charles “Chic” Eglee ran the show in season three</a>. </p>

Overall the episode has garnered more than 5 million multiplatform viewers to-date, according to Starz.</p><p>The series is produced by FremantleMedia North America and executive-produced by Bryan Fuller, Michael Green, Craig Cegielski, Stefanie Berk, Adam Kane and Neil Gaiman.</p><p>“Bryan Fuller, Michael Green and Neil Gaiman have evolved the art form of television narratively, structurally and graphically with <em>American Gods</em>, and we’re thrilled to be working again with these artists as they continue to build the worlds and wars of the gods,” Carmi Zlotnik, president of programming for Starz, said in a release.</p>

                                <p>Starz have greenlit to series <em>American Gods</em> based on the fantasy novel by Neil Gaiman, the network said Tuesday.</p><p>Bryan Fuller (<em>Hanniba</em>l, <em>Pushing Daisies, Heroes</em>) and Michael Green (<em>The River</em>, <em>Kings</em>, <em>Heroes</em>) will pen and showrun the series, which follows the battle between ex-con Shadow Moon who is caught between a battle between traditional gods of biblical and mythological roots and an upstart pantheon of gods reflecting society’s modern love of money, technology, media, celebrity and drugs.</p><p>Gaiman will serve as executive producer of the series, which will be produced by FremantleMedia North America.</p><p><br/>“Starz is committed to bring <em>American Gods</em> to its legions of fans, said network CEO Chris Albrecht. “With our partners at FremantleMedia and with Bryan, Michael and Neil guiding the project, we hope to create a series that honors the book and does right by the fans, who have been casting it in their minds for years.”</p>
