                                <p>The NBA said it will reach its seasonlong goal to engage more than 1 million New York City youth via a fitness-related hoops program across the five boroughs as part of its NBA Cares All-Star efforts.</p><p>Alongside other rookie undertakings at NBA All-Star 2015, the league will host basketball and fitness clinics in 100 schools – 20 per borough – during the NBA All-Star FIT Celebration on NBA FIT Friday, Feb. 13.  These efforts will be <a href="https://www.nexttv.com/news/nba-selects-kaiser-permanente-first-health-care-partner-387163" data-original-url="https://www.multichannel.com/news/nba-selects-kaiser-permanente-first-health-care-partner-387163">supported by Kaiser Permanente</a> and will feature a member of the NBA family, from NBA All-Stars to WNBA players to NBA legends, at each site.  Additionally, the NBA and State Farm will donate $500,000 to refurbish 10 indoor basketball courts – two per borough – in partnership with the New York City Department of Education.</p><p>Also on Friday, Feb. 13, NBA All-Stars will team with food rescue organization City Harvest, celebrity chef Mario Batali, NBA partners, and hundreds of volunteers from the NBA family to sort and pack 160,000 pounds of food to benefit more than 10,000 New Yorkers in need.  The daylong project will take place at Metropolitan Pavilion with the support of SAP and State Farm as part of the NBA Cares All-Star Day of Service.</p><p>The season-long NBA Cares All-Star community efforts tipped off in September with a Staten Island court dedication attended by New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio, NBA commissioner Adam Silver and National Basketball Players Association executive director Michele Roberts.  Although the original aim was to reach 500,000 kids throughout the Big Apple, the league upped the goal to 1 million children following responses from the Department of Education and community-based organizations.  In partnership with the Brooklyn Nets and the New York Knicks, NBA Cares will have hosted 754 events to encourage kids and families to lead healthy, active lifestyles across the five boroughs by the time the 64th annual NBA All-Star Game begins on Sunday, Feb. 15.</p>

Coverage continues Saturday night at 7 p.m. with the NHL All-Star Skills Competition, before crescendoing at the league's 60th All-Star Game on Sunday evening at 5 p.m.   Emmy Award-winning play-by-play commentator Mike ''Doc' Emrick<em><strong>,</strong></em> analyst Eddie Olczyk and Emmy Award-winning ‘Inside-the-Glass’ analyst Pierre McGuirecall the action.</p><p>Columbus was scheduled to be the site of the 2013 showcase, which was cancelled in the wake of the work stoppage that truncated that season, Last year, the top NHLers were in Sochi, Russia for the Winter Olympics.</p><p>NBCSN’s drops the puck on its comprehensive coverage from Columbus with the NHL All-Star Fantasy Draft. Kathryn Tappen and Daren Millard will be joined by Pierre McGuire to break down the selections from Chicago’s Jonathan Toews and Columbus' Nick Foligno, who are serving as captains.</p><p>Saturday’s coverage of the All-Star Skills Competition starts at 7 p.m. on NBCSN, with Dave Strader (play-by-play), Olczyk, and McGuire delivering live commentary about the hardest shots, fastest skaters, and best shootout moves.</p><p>The weekend-long coverage culminates with NBCSN’s live presentation of the 2015 NHL All-Star Game on Sunday at 5 p.m., with Emrick, Olczyk and McGuire on the call.</p><p>From there, NBC Sports Group will turn its hockey gaze west, as  <em>NHL Live</em>, NBC Sports Group's pre- and post-game studio show, will originate from downtown Phoenix during Super Bowl week. Beginning on Tuesday, Jan. 27, the program will be located at “Super Bowl Central,” NBC Sports Group’s primary home for studio programing during Super Bowl week.</p>

                                <p>The National Hockey League  and the National Hockey League Players’ Association have netted a North American partnership with GoPro.</p><p>Under the deal, financial terms of which were not disclosed, GoPro's high-definition professional cameras will provide high-definition views on telecasts from the NHL's All-Star Weekend in Columbus, Ohio.</p><p>Developed in partnership.with Vislink, GoPro's Professional Broadcast Solution will feature players wearing the company's cameras to deliver real-time and multiple high-definition views from the Al l-Star Skills Competition on Saturday, Jan. 24 at 7 p.m. (ET) on NBCSN, the CBC and TVA Sports.
